1..2…3…and voila!! I’m back.O.K, this time, I happen to revisit before a month turned its back.In fact, the last few week,I kind of caught in a ‘bloggers’ block’.
Two weeks before, I’s almost done with any more contemplation about my further studies, and was about to start the actual procedures one by one.It then happened to me,while I sat down for starting my SOP,that there is no way I can start it without having to dig myself deep into my past. Then the refulgent idea of taking the SOP ‘project’ all the way to an autobiography occured to me. There was no way I can mention any of my memoirs without my sir, Dr.Umadhar Patnaik, an extraordinary teacher (there is no extravagance of language meant here) who is virtually the only one reason, beside my family members, for whatever I am now.

I’m going to talk a lot about him in my future posts(in his words ad infinitum..,anything less said fails and falls short in describing his greatness). But for the time being,a small story from him. This particular narration is not firsthand,I heard it from one of my seniors who in turn heard from sir himself – one day he was teaching and somehow digressed from the actual topic of discussion,he started describing this story.

There is this “Dragon Masters” university where people are taught how to deal with dragons – dragons are perilous,it’s hard to exert control over them, at the same time escaping adroitly from their anger flames. So,he says, all through their stay at that university, young men are taught about the tricks of the trade, how to become masters of their job, with the capital source of inspiration coming from the professors themselves. The way the professors proceed about their didactic business itself acts as a huge stimulus for the men being trained. But the real twist and turn evinces to a student after he graduates from the university,he is exposed to the real life, where there are in actuality no dragons !! So,as it turns out that the young man cannot do a living elsewhere with the knowledge he accumulated at the university(!) , he moves on to join the university back again, but this time as a person with highly reverent skills of managing dragons and who teaches to train many more young men aspiring to become ‘dragon masters’!

After he is done with the story,he revealed the actual reason behind this raconteuse. While he was a student,he pursued math not just for studying purpose or to make a living out of that.He has always loved mathematics ,as it is.And then he went on with his graduation, travelled across the world, met with the best people of the field and finally after all this, now,he finds himself teaching to senior secondary level students, which he quotes as quite similar to the ways of those young people at Dragon university :-) . He says he loves his job.But sir,we love you!!

Lot more is left to write..I save it for future…
